 MEDITATION with Sheila Shervey

The pace and demands of motherhood and the expectations set by ourselves and those around us can leave us stressed, overwhelmed and seeking answers and approval from outside sources. The truth is, you have the answers you need within you. Meditation is a beautiful way to connect with your higher self and with the voice of your soul. It doesn't need to be perfect and it doesn’t need to take hours. Meditation is forgiving and accessible. 

EMPOWER

In order to customize your learning experience, you will be able to pre-register for a variety of workshops (55 minutes each) after purchasing your ticket. Click here to see what workshops are available for the Scottsdale retreat! You will also hear from an amazing keynote speaker during the closing meeting.

REJUVENATE

Make sure to take time to yourself! Saturday is more flexible so that you can relax by the pool, socialize, or SLEEP!

CONNECT

Our workshop leaders will do their best to allow time for you and the other moms to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with each other. We also hope that you will take advantage of meals and down time to get to know the other moms. It is our wish that you come away with many new friends!

Women's Meditation Group

The intention of the Women's Meditation Group is to help you incorporate mindfulness into everyday life, reduce stress and find more freedom and joy. We will practice attuning to our mind and body so we can accurately and clearly hear what we need and want. Often, stress, anxiety and depression are rooted in ignoring what we need most.

Each group will be a time to come together in community with like minded women. There will be a mindfulness topic with a reading at the beginning of each meditation. An essential oil will be offered to begin the practice which will start with mindful movement and then lead into a 30 minute sitting (or lying down) mindfulness meditation. An opportunity to share, process and ask questions will end the group.

Meditation is about choosing to be fully in your experience so you can show up for yourself and respond compassionately

Details:

This group is for beginning and experienced meditators.

We will meditate for 30 minutes. The meditation will be guided with periods of silence.

The experience is trauma informed which means if you get anxious or activated during the experience there will be options and support to help you regulate. A bell will be rang half way through the meditation (at 15 min.) to help orient yourself in time.

You have the option of lying down, standing, sitting on a mediation cushion or chair during the meditation.

There are no refunds. This group is for learning and experiencing meditation and is not psychotherapy.

February Book Club

This is a monthly therapeutic book club where you will engage in self discovery and awakening through reading. Bibliotherapy (aka book therapy) is the process of reading as a way of healing, processing and getting to know yourself through books. The group will be lead by Sheila, a licensed therapist and meditation teacher. There will be time for self reflection, writing and sharing in a safe group environment.

The book for February will be Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed.

Join One Breath Healing and Babe Council for a morning of connection, creativity and reclaiming our feminine energy. This experience includes a variety of ways to explore what that means to you: tarot card readings, an aromatherapy & Reiki session and the opportunity to create your own Himalayan Salt Soak; postcard and letter writing on issues affecting our lives and community, and even a voter awareness activity to help us use our voice in support our community and women ahead of voting day, Tuesday, November 6th.

The Mindful Fertility Group was created to help you navigate the waves that come as you move through the process of trying to conceive. We will explore how the attitudes of mindfulness like trust, acceptance, patience, compassion can guide you in finding ease, comfort and peace.

Within the support of the group we will practice cultivating mindfulness through meditation and other experiential mindfulness practices. There will be time to share and process what is arising for you and we will explore ways you can work compassionately and skillfully with your experience.

The group will be led by Sheila Shervey, licensed Psychotherapist and meditation teacher. She specializes in women’s health and uses a holistic approach to help women find relief from anxiety, depression, loss, pre/postnatal mood imbalances and the emotional stress of infertility. The group is limited to 8 women. To uphold the integrity of the group and to help support your meditation practice a 6 week commitment is required and a 3-6 month commitment is strongly recommended. This is an ongoing group that has new material each week (it does not repeat). You can join the group at anytime space permitting.

Prior to joining the group you must call to make sure the group is right for you. At that time I can answer any questions you may have.

$180 for 6 weeks

Women's Meditation Group (weekly, ongoing, 6 week commitment and preregistration required)

This is an ongoing group that meets each Tuesday from 6:45-8:00p. A 6 week commitment and preregistration is required prior to joining the group.

The intention of the Women's Meditation Group is to help you incorporate mindfulness into everyday life to reduce stress and anxiety. We will practice attuning to our mind and body so we can accurately and clearly hear what we need and want. Often, stress, anxiety and depression are rooted in ignoring what our body, mind and soul needs and wants.

So let's listen! We will spend time meditating, engaging in mindful experiential practices, grounding exercises to help calm the nervous system and root the mind and body, sharing and learning. Each group will include a talk on a mindfulness topic that will help you understand more about the attitudes and principles that are cultivated through the practice. Let's step into our lives in an intentional where we can fully show up for ourselves and respond compassionately to our needs!

This group meets every month. September 12, October 3, November 7 and December 5. 

Do you want to learn to meditate or deepen your meditation practice? Are you curious about the benefits of mindfulness and how they might show up for you in your life?

Mindfulness has the power to transform our lives, move us out of suffering- both mental and physical, help us feel more connected to the people we love and increase feelings happiness and relaxation. 

This 75 minute monthly gathering includes: a 25 minute guided mindfulness meditation, a talk on a mindfulness topic and your reserved seat within a powerful community of like-minded women cultivating bad ass radical acceptance, support, peace and love.
